Current senator: The current senator for the 24th District is Sen. Tom Barrett (R-Potterville). The district features all of Clinton County, Eaton County and Shiawassee County and a portion of Ingham County. Barrett is a veteran of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom

Sen. Barrett served in the Michigan House before being elected to the Michigan Senate in 2018. He is chairman of the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
