Current representative: The current representative for the 82nd District is Gary Howell (R-North Branch). The district covers Lapeer County. Howell is a lifelong farmer who continues a farm partnership with his son, John, in North Branch, according to his official website. He was first elected to the Michigan House in 2018. He is chair of the House Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation Committee.
