Current representative: The current representative for the 71st District is Rep. Tom Barrett (R-Potterville). The district covers much of Eaton County, including Charlotte, Olivet, Potterville, Grand Ledge and parts of Lansing. According to House Republicans, Barrett chairs the House Agriculture Committee and is a member of the Energy Policy, Military and Veteran Affairs, Government Operations and Insurance committees.
