Current senator: The current senator for the 7th District is Sen. Dayna Polehanki (D-Livonia). The district features Canton Twp., Livonia, Northville, Plymouth, Plymouth Twp. and Wayne. Before being elected, Polehanki was a teacher. Her campaign website also says that as a small business owner, she "put Michigan actors to work for 10 years."

Sen. Polehanki was first elected to the Senate in 2018, taking office in 2019.
